COVID-19 Safety Policy

River Valley Soccer Club is recommending following guidelines under Phase 3 as stated at the time of policy adoption.  We understand changes may be necessary as the season progresses.  We ask for compliance from all attending and participating in our CLUB events.

Anyone who is ill, presenting with COVID symptoms, or has a known exposer is to avoid attending or participating in CLUB events until receives a negative test result; or if symptomatic, 10 days after initial symptom onset and fever-free without medicating for >24 hours with all other symptoms improving.

Spectators:

  • For practices and games, no spectators are allowed on the field of play but may stand or sit >6 feet distanced from the field. ONLY AAU certified coaches (2 per team), assigned referee, and players on the team(s) assigned to the field are to be within field boundaries. It is recommended spectators reside in household groups of 8 or fewer individuals with each group spaced >6 feet apart. No more than 150 people per field, including players, coaches, and referees.
  • Masking is recommended of spectators on the grass around RVSC fields.
  • U9, U11, U14 spectators will sit on one side of the field while teams are spaced on the other side.
  • U5, U7 spectators will sit on opposite sides of the field alongside their team keeping players in their family groups.

Coaches:

  • Masking is required of coaches.
  • Recommend use of whistles that do not go to the mouth minimizing hand-mouth contact.
  • Cleaning wipes will be provided to coaches to wipe down the ball as soon as feasible following hand/face contacts or prior to throw-ins.
  • Coaches will keep attendance records for practices and games.

Players:

  • Recommend a cloth face covering of single cloth thickness. Masks are required when in team huddles, meetings and on the sidelines during games. Masks are not needed when on the field of play. Recommend they stay attached to the player to avoid contact with others.
  • Hand sanitizer is recommended for players at parent’s discretion.
  • Hand contact to the soccer ball is to be avoided except when as part of the game. Highly recommended goalies have their own pair of gloves.
  • Recommend water bottles/towels not be shared.

By accepting membership in RVSC, it is understood acceptance of this policy during time of this epidemic.
